Planning & Development

The Woonsocket Department of Planning and Development is charged with ensuring Woonsocket is a quality place to live, work and visit.  The department is responsibe for City zoning, building inspection, construction development, as well as the Planning Board and the City's Planner. The Department actively works to improve Woonsocket’s economy by encouraging appropriate economic development. Additionally, the department oversees the administration of various State and Federal Grants including the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Housing Programs.
