FAQs: COVID-19 Vaccination for Individuals whom are Homebound

  1. I am homebound. How can I get vaccinated?

If you are currently served by a licensed home health agency in Rhode Island, you are encouraged to contact your agency. Several home health agencies in Rhode Island are currently working to bring online in-home vaccination capabilities.

If you are not served by a licensed home health agency, or your home health agency is not able to administer vaccine, please complete the following survey tool: http://bit.ly/homeboundvax. (Links to Spanish and Portuguese versions can be found at the top of the survey tool.) Submitting your information to this survey tool will share it with the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH). RIDOH is currently working to contract with at least one vendor to administer in-home vaccinations to individuals. Once that contract is in place, RIDOH will share information collected through the survey tool with the vendor(s), so that appointments can be scheduled and in-home vaccinations can begin.

  1. I’m unable to use a computer or don’t have access to one. How can I share my information through the survey tool?

For assistance completing the survey by phone, please call The Point at 401-462-4444. The Point is able to provide assistance in several languages, including Spanish and Portuguese.

  1. When can I be vaccinated at home?

RIDOH is currently working to contract with at least one vendor to administer in-home vaccinations to individuals. Once that contract is in place, RIDOH will share information collected through the survey tool with the vendor(s), so that appointments can be scheduled and in-home vaccinations can begin. It is RIDOH’s hope that one or more vendors will be in place in early March. Individuals whose information is submitted through the survey tool should expect outreach to schedule vaccination appointments around that time.

Individuals whose home health agency will be vaccinating them are encouraged to contact their home health agency to determine a timeline.

  1. I am homebound because I lack transportation. How can I get to a vaccination appointment in the community?

Individuals who are Medicaid members or over the age of 60 may request transportation to a vaccination opportunity through MTM, online at https://www.mtm-inc.net/mtm-link/ or by phone 1-855-330-9131 (TTY: 711), at least 48 hours before the vaccination appointment.
