Notice of Review and Public Hearing for the

2019-2020 Annual Action Plan, Year 5 of the Five-Year Plan

The City of Woonsocket is preparing to submit to the Department of Housing and Urban Development the 2019-2020 Annual Action Plan, year five (5) of the Consolidated Plan. The Action Plan establishes programs and projects to overcome the barriers and achieve the Federal goals of developing viable urban communities by providing decent housing, social services, and economic opportunities for low- and moderate-income residents, as well as preventing or eliminating slums and blight. Comments from residents and social service providers on the components of the draft plan are encouraged submit comments. The draft can be reviewed at City Hall, Department of Planning & Development, 169 Main Street, Woonsocket, RI 02895. Comments or questions may be sent to the same address, attention Planning Department – CDBG.

A public hearing will be held before the Woonsocket Community Development Advisory Board on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at 8:00 AM, 169 Main Street, Woonsocket, to hear oral testimony on behalf of grant applicants, review the recommendations of the Mayor and authorize the Honorable Lisa Baldelli-Hunt, Mayor to submit the 2019-2020 Annual Action Plan with Certifications. If a second public hearing is needed, a date will be announced so feedback can be presented to the Woonsocket Community Development Advisory Board.
