INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION 2022

Mayor Baldelli-Hunt Announces Colossal Independence Day Celebration Featuring Live Bands, Food Trucks, & Fireworks Display

WOONSOCKET, RI.: Woonsocket Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt today announced plans for the City's annual Independence Day Celebration to be held on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at World War II Veterans Memorial Park. This year's celebration features live bands, food trucks and a spectacular fireworks display.

The festivities will kick off at 4:00 P.M. with live music by local favorites The Noyz, followed at 6:30 P.M. by Witzend, a popular, high-energy, top-rock cover band known throughout Rhode Island. The evening will culminate with a bang after the playing of the National Anthem at 9:00 P.M., with a dazzling, colorful, fireworks display lighting up the sky. The rain date for the event is July 5, 2022.

Mayor Baldelli-Hunt exclaimed "I want to invite the entire local community to join us to celebrate our Nation's independence. Due to the pandemic, our Nation and community have gone through recent rough times, and this celebration will get family and friends together again in a beautiful outdoor setting to reflect upon our Nation's freedom and to just have fun." The Mayor added "Please mark your calendar in advance, so you will not forget the date."

Food and Dessert Trucks will be available for residents and visitors to enjoy throughout the event. We encourage attendees to bring chairs and blankets and make a day of it.

A special "thank you" to our Public Works employees, Superintendent of Parks, Elizabeth Kerrigan, Director Linda Plays, Director Steven D'Agostino and Fire Chief Paul Shatraw.
