Mayor Announces Sidewalk Repairs in Market Square Area

WOONSOCKET, R.I. :  Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt announced today that within the next week, the Highway Division, along with RICON Construction, will begin work on replacing some damaged sidewalk and curbing along the South Main Street Bridge in front of the Woonsocket Falls Dam at Market Square.

“From paving roads to now repairing hazardous sidewalks, Director Steven D’Agostino and the workers in the Highway Division have continued to work tirelessly to improve the City’s infrastructure and make the City safer for our residents and attractive to businesses,” said Mayor Baldelli-Hunt.

Director D’Agostino said, “The public should expect some minor traffic delays in and around the area of construction,” but assured residents that “the minor inconvenience will be outweighed by the improvement in safety and beautification of the area around treasured Woonsocket Falls Dam.”

For any questions regarding this project, residents can call Michael Debroisse in the Engineering Department at 401-767-9216.
