September 11th Observance

WOONSOCKET, R.I. :  Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt and the Public Safety Officials invite city residents to the annual remembrance of the tragic events of September 11, 2001 at Woonsocket Fire Department Headquarters, 5 Cumberland Hill Road.  The 16th year observance will take place on Monday, September 11th at 8:30am.

Mayor Baldelli-Hunt stated, “It is important that we remember the innocent victims that lost their lives as well as the brave heroes who also perished while doing their jobs.  May we never forget them and the loss of precious life on this day.”

Members of the local clergy will give an invocation and a moment of silence will be observed.  There will then be brief addresses by Mayor Baldelli-Hunt, Fire Chief Paul Shatraw and Police Chief Thomas F. Oates III.

In the event of inclement weather, the observance will be moved inside at that location.
