Woonsocket Unveils Survey Seeking Community Feedback on ARPA Fund Usage Priorities

Woonsocket, R.I.: Woonsocket Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt announced today that the City is seeking feedback via a short survey from residents, businesses, and community organizations regarding their ideas and priorities for the City’s utilization of approximately $36.4 million in funding from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). The survey is available in English, Spanish and Laotian and will be active on the City’s website until the end of July, 2021.

Mayor Baldelli-Hunt stated, “We want our ARPA funds to be transformational for Woonsocket and we are seeking input from residents, businesses and other stakeholders as to how we can best employ these funds to significantly impact our community.” The Mayor added, “We are encouraging broad constituent participation in our ARPA survey to help us better align these funds with projects that create a healthier, happier, and more prosperous future for our City.”

The goals of ARPA are to 1) meet immediate COVID-19 related health, economic and social challenges; 2) address long-term infrastructure and economic needs, and 3) confront disparate consequences of the pandemic.
