The primary duty of the Traffic Unit is the enforcement of all city and state laws and ordinances governing traffic safety and accident investigation. The unit investigates all serious accidents that occur in the city. Officers assigned to the unit specialize in traffic enforcement and accident investigation. The unit is staffed with a Lieutenant, two patrol officers and one civilian clerk.
