Public Review of the Draft Hazard Mitigation Plan Requested

As part of the City's ongoing effort to better protect residents, property and the environment, the Hazard Mitigation Working group has drafted an update to the 2011 Hazard Mitigation Plan in accordance with FEMA guidelines.

  A FEMA-approved plan not only is a condition for receiving certain types of non-emergency funding but will enable the City of Woonsocket to qualify for Federal Hazard Funding should an incident occur. In addition  implementation of the actions of the plan aim to reduce loss of life and property. 

Public feedback on the draft plan is important to this process. Please review the draft plan and submit comments no later than August 10, 2018. Paper Copies are available in the City Clerk's Office and Harris Public Library if required.
