WOONSOCKET, R.I.:  Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt today announced that Woonsocket has been selected as one of the six Rhode Island core cities whose small businesses will be a “focus” for services provided by the newly established Rhode Island Small Business Hub (The HUB), a federal and state funded “one-stop” resource for small businesses. The HUB will provide Woonsocket small business owners access to support services across a variety of industries and functions at no cost to them.

The Mayor detailed that the HUB is intended to help start, guide, and grow small businesses through a partner network that these businesses can access. Additionally, the HUB can provide consultative services to assist Woonsocket small businesses in critical areas such as legal, bookkeeping, marketing, technology, and human resources. A full list of HUB services can be found on their easy to navigate website www.risbHUB.com. The HUB can also be reached at 401-249-2222.

Mayor Baldelli-Hunt stated, “As a former small business owner, I know how challenging it is to wear multiple hats, and effectively manage a wide range of business functions. There are areas that a small business owner just does not know enough about, and needs expert help with. By taking advantage of the HUB’s resources, Woonsocket small business owners will be able to increase their chances of success and achieve their goals more swiftly and efficiently.”

The Mayor added, “I would like to thank Governor McKee, Senators Whitehouse and Reed, Representative Cicilline, and RI Secretary of Commerce Tanner for selecting Woonsocket as one of the six Rhode Island core cities where the HUB will initially focus the provision of their small business services.”
