TEMPORARY TEST TRAFFIC PATTERN IN MONUMENT SQUARE

WOONSOCKET, R.I.: The City Administration announced today operators of motor vehicles will notice a new temporary traffic flow pattern at the intersection of Social Street, Monument Square and North Main Street starting Monday, June 6 through Wednesday, June 8, 2022.

The temporary traffic pattern is part of the conceptual plan for an urban arts district design for Worrall Street, Social Street, Monument Square and North Main Street. The Mayor noted, “This will be an opportunity for the community to get a glimpse of future plans for the City and for the engineers to gather data on their design.”

We ask that residents and guest not avoid the area but travel as you normally would. Please be patient as we study how the traffic flows with the temporary traffic pattern. After the traffic pattern is studied during this test period and comments are gathered, adjustment to the engineering drawings can be made, if necessary.
