WOONSOCKET HOSTS FOURTH ANNUAL SPOOKTACULAR DANCE PARTY  AT RIVER ISLAND ART PARK ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 25

WOONSOCKET, R.I.: The City of Woonsocket will hold its Fourth Annual Spooktacular Dance Party at River Island Art Park on Friday, October 25, 2019 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

“When was the last time you made time to put a costume together and dance outside to a DJ at River Island Art Park with your friends and family?” said Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt.  “This event is designed to create an all-ages, fun night out during the Halloween season, and it is free and family-friendly.”

The City will award costume prizes in the categories of Best Overall Costume, Best Child Costume: Under Age 10 and Ages 11 to 17, Best Group, Best Couple, Most Original, Scary and Funny.

In addition to featuring a DJ, the free Spooktacular Dance Party will include carnival-style games and a designated Creepy Zone where hauntings will be displayed. Kids will receive a complimentary cup of cocoa.

“Our Spooktacular Dance Party is an ideal time to get your Halloween spook on and have some fun outside in advance of October 31st,” noted Mayor Baldelli-Hunt.

Superintendent of Parks and Recreation Liz Kerrigan who designed the event agreed, “This outdoor community event is a cute and safe way to have some Halloween fun.  Our Spooky Zone offers just enough fright for the little ones without getting too crazy.  Spooktacular is designed to appeal to all five senses.  We hope that everyone adds this non-traditional Halloween gathering to their event calendar and joins us at River Island Art Park on October 25.”
