Mayor Baldelli-Hunt to Unveil Large Scale Public/Private Initiative at Cass Park on Wednesday, October 21st at 10:00 AM

WOONSOCKET, RI: Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt announced that the City of Woonsocket will unveil renderings detailing a major public/private initiative for the City on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at 10:00 AM. The event will be held “rain or shine” at Cass Park in Woonsocket, RI, near the new girls’ softball field. All media, public and elected officials are invited. Social distancing protocols will be in place.

“This is the most exciting, large-scale, multi-faceted project to be undertaken in Woonsocket in decades,” exclaimed Mayor Baldelli-Hunt. “This project will boost recreation and commerce in the City, and you will see at the unveiling on October 21st that we will definitely be breaking new ground in our proposed way of paying for a portion of the project,” added the Mayor.

Public Works Director, Steve D’Agostino, commented, “What we are proposing will be the most ambitious enterprise the City has seen in a long time. A lot of work and creative thought has gone into the project renderings that we will be presenting on October 21st.”

The event will be held outside in compliance with the Governor’s Phase III guidelines which include seating six feet apart from each other, and mask wearing.
