Mayor Baldelli-Hunt Encourages Woonsocket Small Business Owners and Entrepreneurs to Apply for Participation in the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program

WOONSOCKET, RI:  Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt is announcing the October 1 deadline to apply for the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program.  The 10,000 Small Businesses program, which was brought to Rhode Island through the efforts of Governor Gina Raimondo, offers a unique opportunity to help entrepreneurs create jobs and economic opportunity by providing them with greater access to educational, financial capital, and business support.  So far, over 5,500 small business owners and entrepreneurs have participated in the program.

“Woonsocket is very fortunate to have a strong small-business community, which would qualify for participation in this program,” said Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt.  The Mayor goes on to say “I strongly encourage Woonsocket business owners and future entrepreneurs to apply and take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to gain the necessary skills and tools to make their businesses successful.  The City of Woonsocket is open for business and my administration is here to help anyone make their entrepreneurial hopes and dreams a reality.”

The program’s curriculum, which was designed in conjunction with Babson College -the nation’s top-ranked entrepreneurship school- focuses on practical business skills including negotiation, marketing, and employee management.  A key partner in the program is BDC Capital that works with small businesses that lack access to affordable credit or may not qualify for traditional sources of credit.  There is no fee for participating in the 10,000 Small Businesses program.

The website to apply is https://10ksbapply.com/application-process-small-business.  Classes are offered at the Community College of Rhode Island Knight Campus located at 400 East Avenue in Warwick, Rhode Island, 02886.
