Mendon Road Added to Woonsocket’s Annual American Flag Salute to Veterans

Woonsocket, RI: Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt announced today that Mendon Road will this year join Harris Avenue and Diamond Hill Road for roadside display of the American Flag in honor of living and deceased veterans from Woonsocket and across the country. American flags will be prominently placed on the sides of these three roads beginning just before Memorial Day through Veteran’s Day.

“This American Flag roadside display is an appropriate way for Woonsocket to pay tribute to our men and women veterans and to recognize their service and the many sacrifices that they have made to keep our nation free,” exclaimed Mayor Baldelli-Hunt. “Including another large Woonsocket roadway for this year’s American Flag display will further remind our residents and visitors just how much we owe our veterans,” added the Mayor. Human Services Director, Linda Plays, stated “The significance of our flag is so meaningful to our country and I am proud that our City flies our great flag on our roads to serve a reminder to honor our Veterans.”
