RIPTA Beach Bus service returns to Woonsocket for summer
Weekend and holiday service from Woonsocket to State Beaches resumes June 18th

WOONSOCKET, RI: Rhode Island Transit Authority (RIPTA) announced that it will be resuming its annual Beach Bus schedule just in time for the summer season. Service from Woonsocket to Scarborough, Roger Wheeler, and Galillee State Beaches will resume on June 18, and continue until August 8. The route departs from the Cummings Way bus stop at 9:01 am and returns to the same stop at 4:35 pm on weekends and holidays only.

“It is great news that RIPTA will once again offer Beach Bus service to the Woonsocket community,” said Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt. “Expanding public transportation opportunities is important to our residents and RIPTA deserves a big thank you for expanding service so our community can enjoy access to our state beaches during the warm summer months.”

Beach-goers can access the seasonal bus service for $2.00 each way, or $4.00 round-trip. Riders who depart from Woonsocket at 9:01 am will arrive at the beaches by 10:21 am. The return trip departs from the beaches at 3:05 pm and returns to Woonsocket by 4:35 pm.
