Woonsocket to celebrate Independence Day with annual concert and fireworks show

WOONSOCKET, RI: Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt welcomes the community and visitors from throughout the Blackstone Valley region to Barry Memorial Field on Sunday, July 3, for the annual Woonsocket Independence Day concert and fireworks celebration. Festivities kick-off at 7:00 pm and the firework display will begin at approximately 9:00 pm.

“I am pleased to announce that our annual Independence Day concert and fireworks celebration will once again be held for all of our city residents to enjoy,” said Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt. “Like last year, we will observe Independence Day at Barry Field as we continue to honor our veterans with the renovation of World War II Memorial State Park.”

Local favorite Jeff Gamache and Runaway Train, a 6 piece band, will give a two hour performance featuring country music during the first hour, and a mix of pop, rock, and blues in the second hour. During the band’s set break, Jeff will sing a variety of patriotic favorites.

Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to fully enjoy the night’s performances. Food and beverages will also be served by a lineup of local food trucks. In the event of rain, the event will be rescheduled for Tuesday, July 5.
