Woonsocket Fire Department to hold Firefighter examinations
Open examination used to establish eligibility list
Woonsocket, RI: The City of Woonsocket announces the opening of the application period for an Open Competitive Examination for Firefighter that will end on December 2, 2016. Applicants are encouraged to submit the required form to the Personnel Division before that date. The testing date is scheduled for December 10, 2016.
“The Woonsocket Fire Department strives to provide the highest level of fire and emergency medical services to our community,” said Woonsocket Fire Department Chief Paul Shatraw. “An important piece of achieving that goal is to hire the best possible firefighters and personnel, which are our most valuable resource. Establishing an eligibility list of qualified applicants will allow the department to make future hires in an efficient manner.”
Applications and position description can be accessed on the city website at http://www.woonsocketri.org/personnel-department/pages/employment-opport... or may be picked up in-person at the Personnel Division office at Woonsocket City Hall. A non-refundable application fee of $60.00 is also required to be submitted along with completed applications. Applications can be submitted to Personnel Director Mark Ferguson at mferguson@woonsocketri.org or in-person at the Personnel Division office at Woonsocket City Hall.
